Oh, Kentucky

If tonight's vice-presidential debate in Danville gets as combative as yesterday's city-commissioner's candidates forum in Henderson, Chuck Todd will end up having had a happy trip to Kentucky, after all.

If tonight in Danville is as entertaining as tonight 1975 in Hazard was, Ben Sollee will be getting plenty more opportunities to get out of Kentucky.

It's a big day, too, not in Bowling Green.

Rest in peace, Mr. Cunningham, a Hilltopper hoops standout who once recalled for Hilltopper Haven the time that Coach Rupp showed up unannounced for Coach Diddle's birthday party. "It was a little tense."

The Etown Belk's grandly re-opened itself with remarks from the mayor and a performance by two-time American Idol contestant and some dancing bears.

Hooray for Christmas!

  1. There doesn't appear to be anything on YouTube from the Dolly Parton show in Hazard in October 1975, but one would expect it to sound not totally different than her appearance on the MDA Labor Day Telethon about six weeks earlier.
