XXIII Olympic Winter Games, Pyeongchang 2018 (Day 3)

Maybe what I need to do is just switch myself to the Pyeongchang clock for the next couple of weeks, because only now am I getting to the Monday/Day 3 post and it's already just a couple, three hours from dawn on Tuesday/Day 4 in South Korea.

So we've got a Team USA guy in contention in some live luging going on a little after 10 Sunday night in Pyeongchang County, but I've got to finish up getting ready for Sunday school here in a couple hours this morning in Madisonville. Hmmm ... challenging ...

XXIII Olympic Winter Games, Pyeongchang 2018 (Day 1)

We had some stuff come up in the last 24 hours, so my XXIII Olympic Winter Games watching is off to a sporadic start. It's Saturday night, and we're about half through NBC's Friday-night show featuring the opening ceremonies. It has been fantastic so far--fantastic! Now we've switched over to the live Saturday-night show. There is some figure skating happening. I'm OK with figure skating.

The Olympics are great. And you know what? They're even greater with a 9-year-old. But there's not a lot of time for blogging.

XXIII Olympic Winter Games, Pyeongchang 2018 (Introduction/Day 0)

OK, today I'm going to concentrate on figuring out how I'm going to enjoy these Winter Olympics. I love the Olympics, and I especially love the Winter Olympics, and I especially love it even more still when it is staged somewhere outside the United States--like this year.

We've got some alpine skiing, biathlon, curling, luge and ski jumping happening today in Pyeongchang County, South Korea, but I'm uncertain how much of that we are likely to see here because the opening ceremonies aren't until 8 p.m. Friday Korea Standard Time, which would be 5 a.m. Friday Channel 6 Standard Time. I'm really hoping Frank Morock and the sports desk at Channel 6 plan to show everything live in wee hours of the mornings the next couple of weeks, because that would totally suit my schedule. 

OLYMPICS!
