In Survivor Pool, I have to choose between Dallas at home against the Jets and Buffalo at home against the Raiders. I have very little faith in Dallas or Buffalo, but I just don't see the Bills starting off 0-2. So I'm going with Buffalo.
Survivor picks so far:
1. Baltimore 25 - 9 Houston

With 3 minutes left in the first half, Buffalo faces a 4th and goal at the 2. The Raiders call time.
ReplyDeleteInstead of taking three points, Buffalo goes for it. Josh Allen's pass is way too high, and the Raiders have held. Buffalo still leads 14-10, but the Bills, Chiefs, and Bengals all look pretty bad right now.
ReplyDeleteWith 18 seconds left before the half, Josh Allen makes an extraordinary throw (he appeared to be in the grip of two Raiders) to put the Bills up 21-10.

With 8 minutes left in the game, Seattle gets a pick six to go up 31-21 in Detroit. Jared Goff had gone 383 throws without an interception, the third longest steak of all time.

According to their Twitter Feed, the Sports Junkies took the Giants over the Bills in their Survivor Pool.
ReplyDeleteI took the Bills.
DeleteGoodness gracious! Washington has now scored 18 points in a row, and their game with Denver is now tied at 21 early in the third quarter. Maybe the DC media was right after all.
ReplyDeleteThe Giants may yet save the Junkies. Current scores:

ReplyDeleteDenver 24 - 35 Washington (4th)
Dallas 30 - 10 N.Y. Jets (Final)
Arizona 28 - 31 N.Y. Giants (F)

ReplyDeleteOn the last play of the game, Denver throws a Hail Mary touchdown pass to make the score 35-33.
ReplyDeleteWith no time left on the clock, Denver goes for two. The pass is . . . . BROKEN UP! The Bronco fans want pass interference, but there is no flag! Washington wins, 35 to 33. Unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteI listened to a lot of the WFT's radio people for a lot of this second half, and I'm very happy for them, too. Improbably, I've become a bit of a WFT fan.
DeleteWashington and the Giants were both on the road. At one point, Washington was down 21-3. At one point, the Giants were down 28-7. Giants won 31-28. Washington won 35-33. Amazing stuff. No wonder people like the NFL so much.
ReplyDeleteWashington hasn't started a season 2-0 since 2011. That team finished 5-11.
ReplyDeleteThat's all for tonight. I'm not writing about the Sunday Night game.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your report. I also enjoyed the Sunday-night game a good bit.
