Album Review: Time to Go Home by Chastity Belt

I've been listening to this album for the past month and it's grown on me over time.

Initially I was a bit off-put by the production. Felt like too often the music, which I enjoy, was too much in the background behind the vocals. As time has gone I've gotten used to the sound.

The band is very good at constructing hooks and melodies, and lyrically they are interesting. Allmusic.com referred to their sound as dream punk and I like that description. The only problem with the album is that it can disappear into the background pretty easily. This means that even though it is only ten tracks, it can seem longer.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.

  1. This sounds like every other song at a WKU party 1986-90.
