NCAA Baseball Tournament -- Regionals Completed

I hate to say it, but this may be North Carolina's year.  Last week, UNC survived a 17-inning game against N.C. State in the ACC Tournament.  Last night, the Heels blew a 6-2 lead in the top of the 9th of an elimination game against Florida Atlantic, giving up six runs and falling behind 8-6.  But they scored two runs in the bottom of the ninth to send the game into extra innings.  In the top of the 12th, Florida Atlantic took an 11-8 lead -- only to see the Heels tie the game again in the bottom of the 11th.  Finally, UNC won the game 12-11 in 13 innings.  Just an amazing, amazing game -- and a worthy conclusion to the first round of the tournament.

In other do-or-die games, Vandy beat Georgia Tech 7-1, Mississippi State beat Central Arkansas 6-1, and Rice beat Oregon 11-4.

So the Super Regionals are set for this weekend.  We have some exciting match-ups.  Here they are with the home teams listed first:

N. Carolina v. S. Carolina
N. Carolina St. v. Rice
Cal-St. Fullerton v. UCLA
Louisiana St. v. Oklahoma
Vanderbilt v. Louisville
Florida St. v. Indiana
Virginia v. Mississippi St.
Oregon St. v. Kansas St.
