College Baseball Update

You may have noticed that Vandy had a 7-3 lead late in their elimination game with North Carolina State -- and if you did, you may have assumed that Vandy was headed to the Super-Regionals. Well, that just shows you don't know much about Vandy. The School that Almost Always Loses in the Clutch did so again, blowing their lead and falling 9-7 to the Wolfpack. This year's Vandy team can look back on losing in the SEC tournament final and blowing two chances to win its regional. For Vandy, that's a pretty good year.

Here were the results from the other regionals:

In Charlottesville, Oklahoma beat Appalachian State 14-6 and 5-2 to win that region.

In Waco, Baylor beat Dallas Baptist 9-2 and 8-2 to win the region.

In College Station, TCU best Ole Miss 5-2 and 7-4 to win the region.

In Coral Gables, Stony Brook beat Central Florida 12-5 and 10-6 to win the region.

Here are the match-ups for the Super-Regionals. These are best two out of three series that will take place this weekend:

In Gainesville, Fla: Florida v. N. Carolina St.
In Columbia, S.C: S. Carolina v. Oklahoma
In Eurene, Ore: Oregon v. Kent St.
In Waco, Tex: Baylor v. Arkansas
In Los Angeles: UCLA v. TCU
In Baton Rouge, La: LSU v. Stony Brook
In Tucson, Ariz: Arizona v. St. John's
In Tallahassee, Fla: Florida St. v. Stanford
