Album Review: Guitar Slinger by Vince Gill

When I was single and living in Philly I would often come home after work and end up watching some early evening romantic comedy on Lifetime. It was such mindless entertainment it was great for an end of the day wind down. I put the vast majority of adult contemporary music in that same category. It's entertaining but light and helps to shed off the work day. And that describes this Vince Gill album perfectly. In fact this album could be the soundtrack to one of those Lifetime movies. It has humor, romance, and tears, just what you're looking for in such entertainment.

That's not a knock on the album, that's just what the album is. The only real problem with the album is that there isn't a song that you find yourself thinking about or wanting to hear a second time, and for an album like this to move beyond just being background music it needs a couple of those songs.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
