Album Review: Up All Night by Kip Moore

Have you ever heard anyone make a parody of Bruce Springsteen lyrics?  That pretty much describes Kip Moore's songwriting abilities.  You almost feel embarrassed for Moore listening to this album.  He can write fairly decent melodies and so if he can grow as a writer then maybe he could do something interesting, but as things stand he's almost laughably bad.

With the latest country albums I've listened to I've become convinced that singers and their labels get a bonus if they write songs which include beer and trucks.  This is obviously an ad campaign thought up by some brilliant person sitting in New York.  Of course if you can get a song that includes both a truck and a beer then you're doing great.  If you can get a song about a truck, a beer, and scoring with a pretty girl then you probably get a bonus.

The darker side of me is convinced that this whole thing is some subversive way of keeping the common man down, but that's a whole other thought process.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 0 out of 5 stars for Don't Like.
