No media outlet in the world had a more compelling headline in the last 24 hours than The Anderson News put on this story yesterday.
Actually, this one's a grabber, too, given the audience.
Oakland's post office is a keeper.
The Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant, again, looks like a goner.
Owen County's new library is open.
Middlesboro's old Little League team is remembered.
West Point remains evacuated.
Bad jobs news from Elizabethtown.
Rest in peace, Mrs. Sparkman, Knott County native, Hazard radio magnate and Perry County senior-citizens advocate.

Oh, Kentucky
Good jobs news from Lexington.
The 411 on exports from the 270, 502, 606 and 859.
Obama-2012: "Obama didn't win Kentucky in 2008, and frankly, his own campaign has pretty well written off the Bluegrass State as a lost cause in 2012. One of his own campaign workers practically said as much when she spoke to the Kentucky Young Democrats at their convention in Lebanon earlier this year."

Oh, Kentucky
A Clarkson boy and his big pig rocked the state fair.
A Hardinsburg hopes to remake "homemaker" marketing.
I'm not going to get this done nearly early enough to include any Joe B and Denny Show snippets in the comments, but almost-83-year-old Joe B is on the air again this morning going on and on about how much he loves Kentucky. Today he's talking about how beautiful the U.S. highway routes are out of Lexington (he's right), about the great-looking pleasure horses that people parade around various county fairs around the state (new to me and interesting) and about how excited he is about the UK-WKU football game Thursday. He's on for two hours almost every day, and he's pretty much like this all of the time.
The ColumbiaMagazine.com community is having a blast remembering various old local restaurants. Grilled honey buns really are fantastic.
Depp does Hunter S. Thompson, again.
Hooray for fan buses!
"Helping Neighbors" around Ashland.
Watch out for opossums.
