Pope Update

Tyran Stokes, the number one player in the Class of 2026, just announced that he was going to attend Kansas University in the fall.

For reasons that I cannot fathom, there were people in the Lexington media who thought Stokes was heading to the University of Kentucky.  In other words, they thought he would pick a coach who's never been to the Sweet 16 over one of the greatest coaches in college basketball history.

They were disappointed.

Like the man says in Citizen Kane:  "You're going to need more than one lesson.  And you're going to get more than one lesson."

  1. Matt Jones: "I think there is a chance that at some point in the near future, there will be a push within UK to force Mark Pope to hire a GM, whether he wants one or not."

  2. Clay Travis: "I think Kentucky should extend Mark Pope. He's doing a great job. Better lock him up, lifetime deal would be the best of all. No brainer."

  3. To be fair, it's possible that no one in the Lexington media actually thought Stokes was coming to Kentucky. They may have just promoted that possibility in the hope of getting more clicks.
