Here are the official rankings for the College Football Playoff:
25. Arizona St: 7-3
24. Tulane: 8-2
23. Houston: 8-2
22. Missouri: 7-3
21. Illinois: 7-3
20. Tennessee: 7-3
19. Virginia: 9-2
18. Michigan: 8-2
17. Texas: 7-3
16. Georgia Tech: 9-1
15. U.S.C.: 8-2
14. Vanderbilt: 8-2
13. Miami (Fla.): 8-2
12. Utah: 8-2
11. B.Y.U.: 9-1
10. Alabama: 8-2
9. Notre Dame: 8-2
8. Oklahoma: 8-2
7. Oregon: 9-1
6. Mississippi: 10-1
5. Texas Tech: 10-1
4. Georgia: 9-1
3. Texas A & M: 10-0
2. Indiana: 11-0
1. Ohio St: 10-0
Based on those rankings, the playoff seedings would look like this:
1. Ohio State
2. Indiana
3. Texas A & M
4. Georgia
5. Texas Tech
6. Mississippi
7. Oregon
8. Oklahoma
9. Notre Dame
10. Alabama
11. Miami (Fla.)
12. Tulane
The problem here is that both of Miami's losses are conference losses, which will make it almost impossible for the Canes to win the automatic bid in the ACC. That bid is more likely to go to Georgia Tech or even Virginia.
