According to ESPN, the Padres have a 99.9 percent chance of making the playoffs, while the Mets (51.7 percent), Reds (42.0 percent), and D-Backs (5.9 percent) are battling for the last spot.

According to ESPN, the Yankees, Mariners, and Red Sox are all better than 92 percent to make the playoffs. The last two spots will go to two of the following three teams: the Tigers (80.9 percent chance), Houston (73.2 percent), and Cleveland (53.5 percent). Detroit was one of the best teams in baseball for the whole season, but the Tigers have gone 1-9 in their last 10 games, while Cleveland has gone 9-1. Meanwhile, the Mariners have won nine of their last ten games, so Houston (which trails the Mariners by three games) is scrambling for a wild card slot.
