So Long, 2021-22 Sports Year

Congratulations to Western Kentucky for beating U of L in men's basketball, and for winning the Boca Raton Bowl 59-38 over Appalachian State.

Congratulations to Murray State's men's basketball team for going 31-3 overall, going 18-0 in the OVC, winning the OVC Tournament, and beating San Francisco in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.  Murray State finished at number 36 on Ken Pom, the Racers' best finish since 2012.

Congratulations to Kentucky for beating Florida and Louisville in football, for beating UNC and Kansas -- the two national finalists(!) -- in men's basketball, for beating Iowa 20-17 in the Citrus Bowl, for winning the SEC women's basketball tournament, and for winning the NCAA Rifle Championship for the second year in a row, the third time since 2018, and the fourth time overall.  Next year's goals:  beat Tennessee in football, win some games in the NCAA men's basketball tournament.

Congratulations to George Rogers Clark for being number 1 in the Commonwealth and winning the KHSAA Basketball Tournament.  Congratulations to Paducah Tilghman for reaching the 3A finals in football.  Congratulations to Lyon County and Murray High for reaching the quarterfinals of the boys' basketball tournament.

Finally, congratulations to all of us for the first complete sports year since 2018-19.  We hope that band camp will be getting underway soon, and we look forward to more hot dogs and Coca-Cola in the 2022-23 sports year.
