Cats fall to 18th in the AP Poll

Still number 10 in Ken Pom.  The media doesn't like this team -- probably because they watched UK play three times (against Duke, Notre Dame, and LSU), and the Cats lost all three games.  This week the Cats are at Vandy and home to Tennessee, so we will have some major challenges.

  1. Kentucky finished 18th in the final AP football poll. Since 1954, here are the years where UK finished in the top 20:

    1976: 18
    1977: 6
    1984: 19
    2018: 12
    2021: 18

  2. Cats roll 78-66 over Vandy in Memorial Gym. Very strange game. UK was up 78-50 with about 6 minutes left, and Vandy ended the game on a 16-0 run. UK now up to number-8 on Ken Pom, but the evening is not over.

  3. Baylor lost to Texas Tech, and USC lost to Stanford, so there are no more undefeated teams. Baylor was the last team to take a loss.

  4. Kansas beats Iowa State 62-61 in the Phog. KU wins about 10 home games like this every year.

  5. Auburn wins at Alabama 81-77. Huge win for the Tigers, who are now 4-0 in the SEC and who have a relatively easy schedule the rest of the way.
