Kentucky High-school Basketball, Lots of Teams Left

We're still in district action all this week, both in the boys' and girls' tournaments--so lots of fun yet to come (please, God). I'm rooting for Madisonville-North Hopkins and McCracken County in everything.

  1. The Maroon boys are 12-4 overall and 9-1 in Second Region games. They have an elimination game in the Seventh District tonight at 5:30 Central at Caldwell County High in Princeton, against intracounty rival Dawson Springs.

  2. The Lady Maroons--coached by one of my neighbors!--are 4-8 overall and 4-2 against Region 2 foes. They open District 7 play at Caldwell County on Thursday night.

  3. The McCracken County girls play in the Second District championship tonight at Paducah Tilghman. The Lady Mustangs are 12-7 overall and 8-3 against First Region opponents, and, of course, along with Tilghman, they've already qualified for the regional tournament.

  4. Our Mustang boys are 18-6 overall, and they have won every time out in 13 games against Region 1 foes this season. Next up in the District 2 championship, Tuesday night at 7, at Tilghman against the Blue Tornado.
