UK Moves to Number 6 in the AP Poll

The Big Blue (8-1) is ranked number 6 in this week's AP Poll.  The Cats have an all-time record of 76-12 (.864) as the nation's number 6 team.  The Cats have played some great games at Number 6.  Here are three:

1. On February 4, 2003, UK was number 6 in the country when number 1 Florida showed up at Rupp Arena.  The Cats crushed Florida, winning 70 to 55.  For the next three years, Kentucky was one of the best teams in the country,  and Tubby seemed to have Billy Donovan's number.  That was fun while it lasted.

2.  On December 17, 2016, Number 6 UK beat Number 7 UNC 103 to 100 at the CBS Sports Classic in Las Vegas, Nev.  Malik Monk went 8-12 from three-point range in this game, finishing with 47 points.  This game was one of the very best regular season contests I have ever seen from the Cats.

3.  On March 28, 1992, the Cats were number 6 in the country when they were eliminated by Duke in the finals of the East Region.  Duke won 104 to 103 in overtime.  You've probably heard of this game.
