Album Review: Everything Was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt by Moby

Moby has 17 albums out since he started releasing albums in 1992. I must admit I have missed the entire Moby career. I don't know anything about him or his music.

I picked this album out to listen to in part because I know nothing about Moby and wanted to give him a listen. It reminds me of music I was listening to back around 2000. There was a series that started in 1999 called Back to Mine which I really liked and this made me think of that series.

The problem for me is two fold. First, it feels like music I was listening to back in 2000, so 18 years ago.  Perhaps Moby is responsible for the fact that I was listening to that music, but no matter.  Second there is nothing that really stands out for me on this album. Not the mood, not one particular song, not the overall construct of the album.

I never know what to say about an album like this. I'm assuming if you are a Moby fan this album is thought of very differently than how I view it. Following the Rhapsody rating method I give the album 1 out of 5 stars for Just OK.
