AP NFL Poll: Week 8

So, the Vikings were putrid against the Eagles and -- hey, look who's back on top:

1.  New England Patriots:  6-1
2.  Dallas Cowboys:  5-1
3.  Seattle Seahawks:  4-1-1
4.  Denver Broncos:  4-2
5.  Minnesota Vikings:  5-1
6.  Philadelphia Eagles:  4-2
7.  Kansas City Chiefs:  4-2
8.  Green Bay Packers:  4-2
9.  Oakland Raiders:  5-2
10.  Atlanta Falcons:  4-3

The high point of the week was the 6-all tie between Seattle and Arizona.  Those two teams both really deserved a tie for that game.

The Panthers went 17-1 last year before losing the Super Bowl.  They are now 1-5, and one of the worst teams in the league.  I really have no idea how this happened, and to be honest, I'm fine if the Panthers never return to the top 10.

The Redskins (4-3), who were plainly embarrassed to be in the top 10 last week, promptly gave up a late touchdown to lose 20-17 at Detroit, and fell from 9th to 13th.  The Redskins are now off to London, which means that we will get to see a decent 1 P.M. game here in D.C.  The Dolphins (3-4) beat someone -- Buffalo? -- to move from 25th to 20th.

The Game of the Week is back to where it should be -- on Sunday night.  The Boys will host the Eagles on NBC, as the NFL tries to drive down the World Series ratings even further.  The Packers travel to Atlanta on Sunday afternoon in the only other top-1o game of the week.

  1. I wonder how New England is most frequently cheating these days.
