U.S. Women's Open Preview

This July is a huge month for golf fans, as we have three major tournaments coming up.  The first is the U.S. Women's Open, one of my favorite events, which is being played at CordeValle Golf Club in Santa Clara County, California.

To get you ready, here are the last 10 winners of the U.S. Women's Open:

2015:  Chun In-gee (KOR)
2014:  Michelle Wie
2013:  Inbee Park (KOR)
2012:  Na Yeon Choi (KOR)
2011:  So Yeon Ryu (KOR)
2010:  Paula Creamer
2009:  Eun-Hee Ji (KOR)
2008:  Inbee Park (KOR)
2007:  Cristie Kerr
2006:  Annika Sorenstam (SWE)

And here are your top 10 women players in the world, according to the Rolex rankings.  Lydia Ko won the first major of the year (which used to be the Dinah Shore Tournament), and Brooke Henderson won the second (the Women's PGA):

1.  Lydia Ko (NZL):  14.71
2.  Brooke Henderson (CAN):  8.87
3.  Inbee Park (KOR):  7.96
4.  Lexi Thompson:  7.73
5.  Sei Young Kim (KOR):  6.98
6.  Chun In-gee (KOR):  6.15
7.  Ariya Jutanugarn (THA):  5.98
8.  Stacy Lewis:  5.73
9.  Amy Yang (KOR):  5.66
10.  Ha-Na Jang (KOR):  5.54

For the record, Lydia Ko was born in Seoul, South Korea, before moving to New Zealand as an infant.  She has been a citizen of New Zealand since age 12.
