British Open -- Round Two Wrap Up

Notice that this is a "Round Two" wrap-up, and not a "Day Two" wrap-up.  This is because the Old Course at St. Andrews -- which was mostly defenseless on Thursday -- was lashed with two days of rain and wind that make you wonder why anyone lives in Scotland.  Play was delayed for over 3 hours on Friday due to heavy rain -- and was delayed for over 10 hours on Saturday after winds gusting in excess of 40 mph were blowing balls around on the greens.  By the time Saturday's play was finished, only two rounds of play had been completed and the R & A had let it be known that the Tournament would not end until Monday -- the first time that's happened since 1988, and only the second time its ever happened.

Dustin Johnson survived the second day better than almost anyone, and continues to lead.  But there is a crowded field behind him.  It should be noted that Danny Willett went to Jacksonville State, which makes him an OVC alum:

1.  D. Johnson:  -10 (65+69=134)

2.  D. Willett (ENG):  -9 (66+69=135)

3.  P. Lawrie (SCO):  -8 (66+70=136)

T4.  J. Day (AUS):  -7 (66+71=137)
T4.  Z. Johnson:  -7 (66+71=137)
T4.  L. Oosthuizen (RSA);  -7 (67+70=137)
T4.  A. Scott (AUS):  -7 (70+67=137)
T4.  R. Streb:  -7 (66+71=137)
T4.  M. Warren (SCO):  -7 (68+69=137)

T10.  L. Donald (ENG):  -6 (68+70=138)
T10.  Mr. P. Dunne (IRL):  -6 (69+69=138)
T10.  R. Goosen (RSA):  -6 (66+72=138)
T10.  H. Matsuyama (JPN):  -6 (72+66=138)

Note that Jordan Spieth shot a 72 that left him at 5 under par, five shots off the lead.
