TUCFC: Championship Game

Well I couldn't have been more wrong about my predictions for the first round of the playoffs. Both Ohio State and Oregon won, but at least I wasn't the only one to be wrong. Using the power ratings to predict winners of bowl games I was 24-14, so not bad, but a rating system like this is not a good way of predicting match-up outcomes.

Anyhow now it all comes down to this. I personally think college football makes a mistake pushing this so deep into the NFL playoffs, but it didn't hurt their ratings last week.

Personally I don't like either of these teams and so don't really care who wins, but I think it's exciting that for the first time in my life we will have what I think of as a legitimate national champion.  I know many would disagree with that, but that's how I feel about it.

Of course that it has come down to teams I could care less about, it is much more like the NFL.

  1. 14-7, Ohio State, with about 11 minutes to go in the first half. The Buckeyes just stopped Oregon on downs near the goal line, and now here's some Ohio State dude running out of the end zone and out to about the 30.

  2. This really doesn't like it's going to turn out to be close. Now Ohio State is ahead 21-7.

  4. I spent most of the evening watching Doctor Who reruns with Smart Girl and Number one son, but the parts of the game I saw were not very competitive. Apparently Alabama was better than I thought, because they at least kept their game with OSU reasonably close.
