Golf Update

The Southcentral Kentuckian of the Year is not playing, and Russ Cochran did well today just to make the cut. So I'm probably not going to go all craycray about this weekend's senior British Open action. Bernhard Langer is jamming again.

Meanwhile, we have an interesting weekend on tap at the RBC Canadian Open. At the Royal Montreal Golf Club in Ile Bizard, Quebec, Graham DeLaet, a 32-year-old from Weyburn, Saskatchewan ("The Opportunity City"), went out and fired a 7-under-par 63 today to position himself for a strong bid to become the first Canadian since 1954 to win his country's national open championship. DeLaet's problem, of course, is so did Old, Reliable Jim Furyk, and he started the day two strokes better than DeLaet. At 8-under for the first 36 holes, DeLaet is tied for third behind Furyk (a 44-year-old from West Chester, Pa., who is finished with his second round at 10-under for the tournament) and Tim Petrovic (a 47-year-old from Northhampton, Mass., who is 10-under through 15 holes today).
