Album Review: Avril Lavigne by Avril Lavigne

At its best this album can be seen as a reflective album by someone who is facing 30 and trying to express the fact that they are still the same rebel they were at 18 and that they look back on the freedom and purity of their life at 17 and miss it.

At its worse this is a self indulgent album of a 29 year old who despite going through a divorce, and then writing an album about it, has never grown up.

I can't decide which of these two albums this represents, but I tend to be an Avril Lavigne fan so I want to give her the benefit of the doubt and think that she's being purposefully reflective on this album.

As for the album itself it's a fair collection of songs though her sound is starting to get a bit dated. Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 1 out of 5 stars for Just OK.

  1. This song should've been all about making up a Kentucky semi-pro football league and playing out a whole season of games on NFL Strategy.
