MLB Update

Here's where everything stands with three games to go:

NL East:  The Nationals have a 3-game lead over the Braves.  The Nats' magic number is 1.  The Nats finish with three home games against the Phillies (80-79), while the Braves finish with three games in Pittsburgh (77-82).

NL Central:  The Reds have won this division.

NL West:  The Giants have won this division.

NL Wild Card:  One Wild Card will go to either the Nats or the Braves.  The Cardinals have a two-game lead over the Dodgers for the other Wild Card.  The Cardinals finish with three home games against the Reds, while the Dodgers finish with three home games against the Giants.

AL East:  The Yankees and Orioles are tied at 92-67.  The Yankees finish with three home games against the Red Sox (69-90).  The Orioles finish with three home games against the Rays (88-71).

AL Central:  The Tigers have a 3-game lead over the ChiSox.  The Tigers' magic number is 1.  The Tigers finish with three games in Kansas City (71-88), while the ChiSox finish with three games in Cleveland (67-92).

AL West:  The Rangers have a two-game lead over the A's.  The Rangers and A's will conclude their seasons playing each other -- they have a three-game series scheduled for Oakland.

AL Wild Card:  One Wild Card will go to either the Yankees or the Orioles.  The A's have a three-game lead over the Angels and Rays for the other Wild Card.  The Angels finish with three games in Seattle (73-86).
