114 Teams Left

Fourteen teams were eliminated from the KHSAA Boys' Basketball Championship yesterday, as regionals got underway in Bowling Green, Louisville, and Lexington.  Last year's champion, Louisville Trinity, was eliminated.  But three teams in the AP Top 10 advanced to the next round:

4th Region Quarter-Finals (at W. Kentucky Univ.):

Logan Co. 79, Cumberland Co. 58

6th Region Quarter-Finals (home teams listed first):

  1. I play basketball in the church gym every Thursday night, and a former player at Cumberland County is often part of the games.

    Also, my wife and I discussed (with mutual surprise) how neither of us remember being really part of anything with anyone who went to high school in Lexington.
