NFL Poll: Week 2

Not too much of a change this week; the biggest deal was Chicago crashing from number 6 to number 13 after a dreadful performance against the Packers.  Here's the current top 10 from the AP's Pro 32 poll:

1.  New England:  1-0
2.  Kansas City:  1-0
3.  New Orleans:  1-0
4.  Los Angeles:  1-0
5.  Philadelphia:  1-0
6.  Dallas:  1-0
7.  Minnesota:  1-0
8.  Baltimore:  1-0
9.  San Diego:  1-0
10.  Seattle:  1-0

The NFC looks wide open to me, while the only story in the AFC is whether Andy Reid and the Chiefs can finally get over the hump against New England.

The game of the week is the Sunday Afternoon game on Fox, where the Saints are going to L.A. for a rematch of last year's NFC title game.  Considering the bad feelings in New Orleans over that game, this week's match-up should be a cracker.  There are no other games featuring two top-10 teams this week, as the NFL allows its fans to ease back into the season without too much drama.

  1. We all know the answer to the Kansas City question. Our only hope is Baltimore, as Harbaugh has shown an ability to beat New England.

  2. I'm sorry to be such a parade rainer, but I do feel compelled to reveal to you two young men that it has been proven that the Patriots have been cheating to win in dramatic ways for years and years. I know it's hard to believe that a league would allow such a thing to go on, but it appears there's so much gambling cred at stake that the NFL is willing only to just do box-checking, minor or even helpful punishments against the team. For example, I don't imagine there will be any too much looking into how much the Patriots tampered Antonio Brown out of Oakland; I think everyone would just rather continue praising tough, smart Coach Belichick for shrewdly claiming the league's best wide receiver off the waiver wire (brilliant!).

I wish everyone would quit cheating. It's wrong and no fun. Of course, I don't expect the Patriots or the Russians to quit cheating, but I don't have to (and won't) pretend that their NFL victories or Olympic medals are legit.

OK, I'll shut up now. Let's hear some more about the Patriot Way, how I'm not trying if I'm not cheating, etc.
