Oh, Kentucky

The nation's top auto-producing states in the first half of 2013 were Ohio, Michigan and ... #oh, really?

In keeping with the Kentucky desk's long-standing policy--If There's Good News Out of Fulton County, We Link to It™--we linked to this good news last week, but, alas, here are some additional happy details.

Bad jobs news from Paducah, reassuring from Carrollton, promising in Bowling Green and helpful from Corbin.

Blowing up in Middlesboro.

Rest in peace, the Rev. Dr. Wessels, who opened the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) congregation at Luther Luckett Correctional Complex in La Grange.

100 years of Good Counsel in Hazard.

Rev. McGlone of Breeding 1, University of Tennessee 0.

"Quigs" of Pewee Valley 1, Bulgaria 0.

For Clinton County, an opportunity to "come out and support the players, cheerleaders and band members as they represent our BULLDOG PRIDE this fall!" In Campbell County, the madness has already ensued.

  1. The white helmet with the plain blue "K" is the best design UK ever had, and they should go back to that and never change. The blue helmets are all mistakes.

  2. I like the 1973-74 helmet--the white one with the map of Kentucky and the wildcat head--the best; the 1975-81 one that you like would be my close No. 2.
