Champions League Update

Over in Europe, they have finished the group stages of the UEFA Champions' League, the most prestigious club soccer tournament in the world.  Sixteen teams are still alive, but last year's winner -- Chelsea -- have been eliminated.  Last year's English Premier League Champion -- Manchester City -- has also crashed out.  On the other hand, a team from Scotland has made it to the knockout rounds, which rarely happens.

There were eight groups of four teams each, and the top two teams advanced from each group.  Here are the remaining teams, organized by country:

SPAIN (4):  Barcelona, Real Madrid, Malaga, Valencia
GERMANY (3):  Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke 04
ENGLAND (2):  Manchester United, Arsenal
ITALY (2):  Juventus, AC Milan
FRANCE (1):  Paris Saint-Germain
PORTUGAL (1):  Porto
UKRAINE (1):  Shaktar Donetsk
SCOTLAND (1):  Celtic
TURKEY (1):  Galatasaray

The round of 16 will take place from February 12 to March 13, 2013.

The quarter-finals will take place from April 2 to April 10, 2013.

The semi-finals will take place from April 23 to May 1, 2013.

The final will be played on May 25, 2013 at Wembley Stadium, in London.
