Album Review: Neighborhoods by blink-182

The last blink-182 album hit the shelves eight years prior to this one which comes out some 18 years after their first album. For a pop punk band that was all about poking fun at youth, these guys have come back together with a lot more on their minds than just making light of things.

All of these 90's punk pop bands are still hanging around and to be honest I've been impressed with how well most of them have handled aging. These guys like some others have kept their sense of humor, but are taking a darker more serious look at their world. These guys have kept those power pop punk hooks, but have created a much dirtier, darker sound, even pulling in inspiration from bands like The Cure.

If you're a blink-182 fan I think you'll be very happy with this effort. If you're in the mood for some pop punk stuff from a 20 year old band, then give it a listen, I think you'll like it.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
