Sun Belt Update

Here are Ken Pomeroy's rankings for the Sun Belt teams. The number next to each team is its national ranking:

EAST:
90. Mid. Tennessee St: 6-1
146. Fla. Atlantic: 3-4
246. Fla. International: 2-3
263. Troy: 2-3
285. S. Alabama: 2-2
291. W. Kentucky: 2-5

WEST:
129. Denver: 4-1
224: La-Lafayette: 3-4
227: Arkansas St: 1-4
262: Ark-Little Rock: 2-4
296: N. Texas: 1-3
311: La-Monroe: 0-6

I pleaded with Western to make a coaching change after last season, but they decided to stick with Ken McDonald. Here's an example of how that's going. On Sunday, November 20, Western lost to Virginia Commonwealth 69-64 in the seventh-place game of a tournament. (Western lost all three of the games it played in that tournament). On Wednesday, November 23, the exact same VCU team came to Bowling Green -- and pasted the Hilltoppers 68-45.

This could get very ugly: Pomeroy is expecting the Tops to lose their next seven games in a row.

I find the whole thing very, very sad.
