Here are the Metro Conference (1980 version) rankings, according to Ken Pomeroy. The number next to each team is its national ranking:
7. Louisville: 5-0
16. Saint Louis: 6-0
18. Florida St: 5-2
33. Memphis St: 2-2
39. Virginia Tech: 5-1
52. Cincinnati: 3-2
106: Tulane: 7-0
As you can see here, the Metro is absolutely loaded this year. Rick Majerus has Saint Louis on a big roll, and there is a good chance that six of the seven Metro teams will make the Big Dance. Even traditional doormat Tulane is off to a solid start.
