Album Review: Rome by Danger Mouse

RomeDanger Mouse is always working with somebody on some project it would seem.  This project is interesting as it is his and Daniele Luppi's tribute to the great Italian film composer Ennio Morricone.  They brought in two singers to the mix, Jack White and Nora Jones.  So obviously this is not an instrumental collection and that adds to this tribute.

Danger Mouse and Luppi seem to easily write instrumental pieces heavily influenced by Morricone, and so it's fascinating to see them work those same influences into pop songs.  It's also frightening how effortless this entire album feels.  It's easy to listen to from the first drop of the needle and never gets old or dull.

This would be a great album to play behind dinner.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
