Album Review: Augustana by Augustana

AugustanaDo you remember the 80's?  In the 80's you had big hitters like Bruce Springsteen, R.E.M., Bon Jovi, and U2.  Augustana has taken all these influences to heart and produced a sound that's big and pop and rootsy.  At times it's a bit much, at times it works quite well.  Overall it's not a bad album.

The songwriting is consistent, the hooks are consistent.  The only hurdle for me is the vocals of lead singer Dan Layus, but even that works after you dive into this album and their sound.

If you want some nice adult alternative pop that has a flair of the 80's then give this a listen.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
