Album Review: Different Gear, Still Speeding by Beady Eye

Different Gear, Still SpeedingAfter Oasis split, the younger sibling took the rest of the band and formed the Beady Eye.  This is their first album and if you didn't know they weren't Oasis you would think it was Oasis.  Therefore, if you like Oasis you should like this album.  Especially if you like their more 60's influenced stuff, since the brother in charge here is the more 60's purist brother.

I was never the biggest Oasis fan in the world and I find this album to be way too much 60's throwback for me.  Still it's not a bad album, just not something I'm going to be picking up anytime soon to put on the stereo.

Oasis is good music for cooking to and this album fits that.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.

  1. This sounds like Oasis doing a Wings cover. I just made a terrific fried egg. One flip, no mess, perfect. Should've held out to listen this while in process.
