The Sweet 16

Well, that didn't take long. FIBA has posted the draw for the rest of the tournament. We did manage to avoid Spain in the quarter-finals; we will probably get Russia instead. On the whole, I have nothing to complain about with this draw. I am particularly excited about the two big rivalry games in the round of 16:

Upper Bracket:
Serbia v. Croatia (a rivalry game)
Spain v. Greece (this was the 2006 final)
Turkey v. France (France will lose)
Slovenia v. Australia (for once, Australia avoids the USA)

Lower Bracket:
USA v. Angola (Angola went 2-3 in the group stage)
Russia v. New Zealand (got to go with Russia here)
Lithuania v. China (go, Lithuania!)
Argentina v. Brazil (another rivalry game)

We play on Labor Day.
