Classic Conference Champions

Now that the college football regular season is over, we have our Classic Conference Champions.  The Champion is the team ranked highest in the last AP Poll before bowl season.  That poll came out yesterday, and here are your champions:

SEC:  Alabama:  12-1 (ranked 5th).  Alabama wins the Classic SEC title for the third time in the last four years.  George (6) came in second place.

ACC:  N. Carolina St:  9-3 (19).  NCSU wins the Classic ACC title for the second time in the last three years.  No other Classic ACC team was in the top 20.

Big 10:  Michigan:  13-0 (1).  Michigan wins the Classic Big 10 title for the third year in a row.  Ohio St. (7) came in second.

Big 8:  Missouri:  10-2 (9).  Missouri wins the Classic Big 8 for the first time since 2013.  Oklahoma (12) came in second.  Interestingly, Oklahoma hasn't won the Classic Big 8 since 2019.

Southwest: Texas:  12-1 (3).  Texas wins the Classic SWC for the first time since 2018.  S.M.U. (17) came in second.

Pac 10: Washington:  13-0 (2).  Washington wins the Classic Pac 10 for the first time since 2018.  Oregon (8) came in second.

Here is the lineup for the Classic Bowl Games:

Rose Bowl:  (1) Michigan v. (2) Washington.  Winner to be national champion.
Sugar Bowl:  (5) Alabama v. (7) Ohio St.
Orange Bowl:  (9) Missouri v. (4) Florida St.  (FSU's schedule leaves it out of the running for the National Championship.)
Cotton Bowl:  (3) Texas v. (6) Georgia
Fiesta Bowl:  (8) Oregon v. (10) Penn St.
Bluebonnet Bowl:  (17) S.M.U. v. (13) L.S.U.

  2. Honestly, I think I would watch almost every one of these bowl games, especially if they were at the Classic Stadiums.
