Wimbledon Update

Here are the men's semi-finals:

(1) Carlos Alcaraz (ESP) v. (3) Daniil Medvedev (RUS)
(2) Novak Djokovic (SRB) v. (8) Jannik Sinner (ITA)

Here are the women's semi-finals:

Elina Svitolina (UKR) v. Marketa Vondrousova (CZE)
(2) Aryna Sabalenka (BLR) v. (6) Ons Jabeur (TUN)

Oh, and Kentucky beat Germany 81-73.

  1. Marketa Vondrousova won her semi-final 6-3, 6-3. Ons Jabeur upset Sabalenka 6-7, 6-4, 6-3.

  2. Final results from GLOBL JAM in Toronto, Canada:

    7/12/23: Kentucky 81, Germany 73
    7/13/23: Kentucky 93, Canada 69
    7/15/23: Kentucky 104, Team Africa 92
    7/16/23: Kentucky 89, Canada 72

Kentucky wins the GLOBL JAM. There was much enthusiasm among the Kentucky press. I would remind you that last August, UK went to the Bahamas and won games by the following scores: 108-56, 102-40, 118-56, 98-74. That team then disappeared and was never heard from again.

  3. I am enthusiastic. Antonio Reeves was named MVP, and he received a watch, which I thought was really quaint.

  4. Ugonna Onyenso went in for surgery, so we'll see what happens to him. Aaron Bradshaw already had surgery back in June. No one -- and I mean no one -- gets injury problems like Kentucky basketball. They haven't had a healthy season since 2012, and it has become common to lose major players for huge stretches of time.
