  1. A few years ago, long-time sports powerhouse Scott County was split into two schools, Scott County and Great Crossing.

  2. George Rogers Clark, the number 1 team in the Commonwealth, beats Robertson County 103-50 in the 10th Region quarters. GRC is now 30-1. Their only loss game on December 19 at the King of the Bluegrass against the Dorman Cavaliers of Roebuck, South Carolina. According to MaxPreps, Dorman is the number-1 team in South Carolina. They beat GRC 59-57, and the Cardinals haven't lost since. They average almost 85 points per game, which is unbelievable when you consider that the games are only 32 minutes long.

  3. That really is amazing. For most of last year, I had decided to take the week of this year's boys' Sweet Sixteen off, stay in Lexington by myself for the weekend, not tell anyone I was there and go to all of the games (for the first time--I've never been to a boys' Sweet Sixteen). But then I got in to marching-band and academic-team competitions through my daughter, and now I don't want to go watch anyone else's kids do anything else.
