NBA Update

The Bucks, down three games to one, are trying to save their season without Giannis -- he's out with an ankle injury.  So far they lead Miami 16-9 with 5:43 left in the First Quarter.

  2. I don't know who any of these players are, by the way. The only person in this game that I know anything about is the Heat Coach, who used to coach them when LeBron was there. And I just know him as "Former LeBron Coach." Honestly these could be two teams from the EuroLeague as far as I know.

  4. Heat leads 52-46 at the half. There are actually two UK guys in this game. Bam Adebayo, who was a huge favorite of mine, is 2-6 from the field and has 6 points and 4 rebounds for the Heat. Eric Bledsoe must think he's playing West Virginia; he's 0-5 from the field, with 4 points (all on free throws) for the Bucks.

    1. Here's Bledsoe's line in that West Virginia game back in 2010: 3-4 from 2-point range, 0-5 from 3-point range, 1-6 from the line, for a total of 7 points. What a nightmare that game was.

    2. Here's how messed up Kentucky was in that game. Patrick Patterson took only 7 shots in the whole game -- and 4 of those shots were three-pointers (he went 0-4). Darnell Dodson -- who you probably don't remember -- took 9 three-pointers (and made two). So he took more three-point shots than Patterson took total shots.

  5. Wait -- Tyler Herro is also playing for the Heat! He's 2-5 from the field for 6 points. Good for him. He was 3-11 against Auburn (and 1-5 on 3-point shots) when we were knocked out of the tournament in 2019. He killed us in that game -- if he had done anything, we would have gone to the Final Four.

    1. Kentucky led 35-30 in the half, and scored only 25 points in the second half. It was 60-60 at the end of regulation. For the game, UK went 5-21 on three's and 12-21 from the line. What a horrible, horrible loss. They could have won that whole tournament.

    2. Of course, it all hurts more now since it turns out that the 2019 NCAA Tournament was probably the last one ever played. And we could have won it.

    3. I really, really liked that 2019 team -- it was a big favorite of mine. And they lost the SEC Tournament (to Tennessee) and the NCAA Tournament (to Auburn) in heartbreaking fashion.

  6. Heat now up 87-78 with 5:19 left in the game.

  7. Everyone keeps saying that the Bucks' coach is doing a bad job. And I have no idea if that's true. But when you look at him on the sidelines, he does look like a bad coach.

  8. They're reporting that Billy Donovan is leaving Oklahoma City. If he comes back to college -- and if they ever play the NCAA Tournament again -- I believe Donovan will win another national championship, and probably more than one.

  9. Heat lead 95-88 win one minute to go. For the second year in a row, Bucks will not reach the finals despite being the number-1 seed in the East.

  10. Now the Rockets are playing the Lakers. Series tied 1-1. Game tied 24-all with two minutes left in the first quarter.

  11. Lakers roll past the Heat 112-102. I thought Rajon Rondo had retired about five years ago, but apparently he's playing for the Lakers. Last night he did this:

8-11 from the field, 21 points, 9 assists

Good for him! Lakers now lead 2-1.
