Album Review: Port Saint Joe by Brothers Osborne


The Brothers Osborne push more toward southern rock and pop on this album. From the Allman Brothers influences to Jack Johnson influences this album is really a descendant of the mix of country and rock that has occurred for a very long time in music. There are definitely songs on here that could find their way to adult alternative, but the core audience for this album are those people who would be fans of the Allman Brothers, ZZ Top, 38 Special and the best place to find many of those fans is country radio. 

This album like there last is very consistent. There isn't a real standout song on here for me like the last album had, but it is still very solid. Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.

    "21 Summer" by Brothers Osborne three times in 2017 and twice so far in 2018 was among my favorite 10 songs of the week. I have yet to find another song of theirs that has grabbed me, but, still, that's a pretty significant one-hit wonder in my private music world.
