Album Review: HNDRXX by Future

Explicit Language

So like I said it takes a couple of albums on my queue to really freeze my reviews and this is the second one. There are things I like and things I don't like and so this album I've been listening to over and over again now for about 2 months. I easily listen to this album but I never reach for it. There isn't a song that I've really attached to or anything. It's there in the background, I like the beats, I like the hooks, I like the sound, but something is just off.

I know what it is, it's the vocals.  I have a hard time with the auto-tuner after a bit.  It doesn't seem like it needs to be there just kind of grates on me a bit.

This is a long one at 17 songs and the language is a bit much.  Still it's an easy listen I have to say.  But for me it is so unmemorable that I can't give it too much credit. Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.

  1. I think I mentioned several reviews ago that I heard on NPR recently an interesting history of Auto-Tune, tracing it to that one big Cher song, I think.
