1:30 p.m., Winchester George Rogers Clark Lady Cardinals (31-4) vs. Mercer County Titans (29-6)

  1. "THE FIRST REGION CHAMPIONS LEAD THE DEFENDING STATE CHAMPIONS BY 11 AT INTERMISSION! WHAT A FIRST HALF!"

That was the WNBS AM 1340 commentator, and it really did sound like that--all caps and exclamation points. The Lady Tigers sprinted out to a 22-10 lead, as one of the Butler key players picked three fouls; then, the Bearettes inched as close as 22-16, and Murray closed with a 7-2 spurt.

Macey Turley nails a 3 and Murray leads 29-18 at halftime. Butler looked absolutely gassed in final minute of half.
