Album Review: Church Clothes 3 by Lecrae

If you ever wonder why is it that rap has become so popular, I would say it's the same reason that any genre of music becomes very popular. In among all the bad versions of rock or disco or pop or country or rap or whatever are those albums that stand out and remind you why this genre of music is relevant. Why it has a home in our culture here in the United States. This album from Lecrae has done that for me this year with rap.

It's considered a mix-tape instead of an album, not sure why, but I find the album to be very compelling. Lacrae is a gospel rapper and a very successful one at that. Not just in the gospel circles but in the broader rap circles as well and you can hear on this 10 track album why. The video gives you a good idea of what this album is about. The sound, the vibe lyrically. Very good stuff.

I have to say with all that is happening in the United State in 2016 I found this album to be a good fit. Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 3 out of 5 stars for Pretty Good.
