U.S. Women's Open -- Day 1 Wrap-Up

The big story of yesterday's round was that Mirim Lee shot an 8-under par 64 to jump out into a three-shot lead.  The top two players in the world -- Lydia Ko and Brooke Henderson -- had a much rougher time.  Ko shot a one-over par 73 and is tied for 52d place.  Henderson's four-over par 76 leaves her in 106th place.  In fact, a lot of the big stars appear to be out of it already -- Paula Creamer shot a 74, Lexi Thompson shot a 74, Michelle Wie shot a 75.  Part of the problem was that all of these players went out in the afternoon, when scoring conditions were much worse than they had been in the morning.

Here's the leaderboard after Round One:

1.  Mirim Lee (KOR):  -8 (64)

T2.  A. Yang (KOR):  -5 (67)
T2.  Minjee Lee (AUS):  -5 (67)

T8.  S. Michaels:  -3 (69)
T8.  E.H. Ji (KOR):  -3 (69)
