Last night in the OVC semi-finals, the Morehead State Eagles were beaten by UT-Martin 83 to 70. The Eagles lost the game on the boards, where they were out-rebounded 42 to 30, and on the free throw line, where Martin took 35 shots to Morehead's 10.
Still, Coach (and former Unforgettable) Sean Woods continues to make progress in Rowan County. Here is how he has done in four seasons at Morehead:
2013: 8-8 in OVC, 15-18 overall (227th in Ken Pom)
2014: 10-6 in OVC, 20-14 overall (180)
2015: 10-6 in OVC, 17-17 overall (154)
2016: 11-5 in OVC, 19-12 overall (136)
It is not easy to improve your ranking in Ken Pom for four seasons in a row, so let's give a lot of credit to Coach Woods.
Morehead State's departure leaves Northern Kentucky, Western Kentucky, and UK as the only Commonwealth teams still fighting for the title.
