Album Review: Sirens by The Weepies

I'm a big fan of The Weepies and so was excited to see they had an album out. It's been a five year gap and I was unaware that health issues for Deb Talan contributed to the delay. Understanding what has happened with this duo over the past five years it gives a different perspective to this album. In some ways the album is more subdued than The Weepies normally are, and in other ways it feels more exuberant. Lyrically it also feels more personal. As I said all this makes sense when you think about what their last five years has been like as a couple and as a family.

Personally I find the album to feel a bit long and a bit meandering, but it still works and definitely has it's moments. Like all other albums from The Weepies this is a solid clean the house album. Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.
