They Got Married in a Fever (in Franklin)

"They all drove up in their Cadillacs. Some in the group, particularly George Morgan, who sang a couple of songs, looked like they had already been celebrating, if you know what I mean."

Good stuff from Gary West in The Park City Daily News, about the March 1, 1968, wedding of June Carter and Johnny Cash in Franklin, Kentucky. I sure wish Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon would come back and do a whole sequel to Walk the Line that totally confined itself to depicting the trip to Simpson County to get married--even if they did the whole thing in German.
