Album Review: Classics by She & Him

She & Him have always made it clear that the music they create is inspired by music from the 50's and 60's.  So it can't come as too big of a surprise to see them finally come out with a collection of what they call classics.  All in all this album is exactly what you would have expected if I told you that She & Him were doing a collection of songs like this and so in that sense it works well. Zooey Deschanel continues to improve as a singer and they do a very good job of arranging these songs to sound like She & Him songs.

So it is what it is and that's nice.  Great album to put on for family game night or for cleaning the house.  Outside of that, not sure I'll be going back to it.

Following the Rhapsody rating method I give it 2 out of 5 stars for Not Bad.

  1. I love them, She & Him. I'm going to plan to buy one new CD or album per quarter, and, right now, She & Him is a leading contender for my 47Q2 purchase.

  2. And thank you so much for putting the video and clip string at the top of the post!
