This Week's Games

Here are this weekend's games in Western Kentucky -- home teams listed first.  It's hard to believe that many teams are already playing their fifth game of the year.

This Saturday, all roads lead to McCHS as McCracken County hosts a triple-header.  I hope they get good weather.  Eric, how would you get from Southaven, Mississippi to West Paducah, Kentucky?  And how should the Russellville and Todd County Central fans get there?

One more thing:  After Coach Haskins retires, the "McCracken Bowl" should become the "Haskins Bowl."

Friday, September 19:
Ballard Mem. (4-0) v. Hopkins Co. Cent. (0-4)
Crittenden Co. (2-1) v. Webster Co. (1-3)
Fort Campbell (1-3) v. Caldwell Co. (4-0)
Fulton City (0-3) v. Eldorado (Ill.)
Graves Co. (1-2) v. Mayfield (3-1)
Henderson Co. (2-2) v. Madisonville-N. Hopkins (2-1)
Hopkinsville (2-2) v. Warren East (3-1)
Marshall Co. (1-2) v. Murray (2-2)
Union Co. (2-1) v. Trigg Co. (1-3)

Saturday, September 20:

Calloway Co. (0-3) v. Bullitt Central (3-0) (at McCracken Co.) (McCracken Bowl)
McCracken Co. (3-0) v.  Southaven (Miss.) (McCracken Bowl)
Russellville (4-0) v. Todd Co. Cent. (0-3) (at McCracken Co.) (McCracken Bowl)

  1. Every Friday, WYMC airs "Cardinal Spirit Messages" that are sponsored by local businesses and voiced by Mayfield High cheerleaders. Here's today's, in advance of this evening's game at Graves County, as delivered by cheerleaders Lincoln and Katie:

We meet again cross-town rivals at their best,
but it's no contest who's going to win at the Eagles' nest
It is OUR town. We are THE team,
and we are living the dream
So come on, Eagles, face the facts:
we're better; you know it; it's a Cardinal attack!
