Last Week in Western Kentucky

Here are the scores from last week's football games for teams in Western Kentucky.  Home teams listed first.  Congrats to McCracken Co. -- you won't see too many teams from our end of the Commonwealth winning on the road in Tennessee.  Congrats to Fort Campbell (I love that Fort Campbell and Fort Knox have a regular series).  I'm sad for Fulton City, who came so close to winning the battle of Fulton.  I'm sad for Tilghman, which apparently will never beat Mayfield again:

Allen Co.-Scottsville 56 - 14 Marshall Co.
Caldwell Co. 72 - 27 Ohio Co.
Christian Co. 8 - 36 Henderson Co.
Dyer Co. (Tenn.) 20 - 42 McCracken Co.
Fort Knox 20 - 49 Fort Campbell (Army Bowl)
Fulton City 18 - 20 Fulton Co.
Graves Co. 26 - 17 Murray
Hopkinsville 75 - 14 Calloway Co. (at Trigg Co.) (Kentucky Machine and Engineering David Sadler Bowl)
Madisonville-N. Hopkins 7 - 35 Cent. Hardin
Mayfield 47 - 21 Paducah Tilghman
Todd Co. Cent. 6 - 27 Ballard Mem.
Trigg Co. 21 - 28 Hancock Co. (Kentucky Machine and Engineering David Sadler Bowl)
Union Co. 50 - 20 Webster Co.

Also, they are not listed above -- they're too far east for that -- but credit must be given to Bowling Green High School, which won its 47th game in a row by picking up yet another victory over Louisville St. Xavier, this time 6-0 in overtime.  That is an incredible accomplishment for a public school.

  1. Tilghman's JV and middle-school teams swept Mayfield's in the leadup to the varsity game last week, so there is home among the Blue Tornado faithful.

  3. "Hope," I meant, not home--though that is true, I'm certain.
